10 Best Thrift Stores in NYC

photo via pinterest

One of my absolute favorite pass times is to shop thrift. I thrift more often than I'd like to admit and would thrift every day if I had acres of land to place all my findings! But alas I keep it to a minimum by only buying items that I truly love and cant live without. If you can recall my How To Thrift post, I mentioned that you should only buy what you love because the pile can get pretty high on items you just like or favored because the price was right. In spirit of my love of thrifting I wanted to share with you the places I go to find great items! I thrift in Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. I have complied a list of the places below:

QUEENS
Salvation Army (34-02 Steinway Street, Astoria NY 11105)
Goodwill (32-36 Steinway Street, Astoria NY 11105)
Goodwill Outlet (47-47 Van Dam Street, Long Island City 11101)

BROOKLYN
Buffalo Exchange (109 Boerum Place, Brooklyn NY 11201)
Artists and Fleas Market (70 North 7th Street, Brooklyn NY 11211)
Brooklyn Flea market (winter-1 Hanson Place, Brooklyn NY 11217, Summer- 27 N 6th Street, Brooklyn NY 11211)
Beacon's closet (88 North 11th Street, Brooklyn NY 11211)
Vice Versa (241 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11211)

MANHATTAN
Hell's Kitchen Flea Market (W 39th Street and 9th Avenue, New York NY 11101)
Salvation Army (208 E 23rd Street, New York NY 10010)

Like every store that is not thrift, these stores do have their hits and misses so it is important to be patient. Always go with a plan and plenty of time because it can get overwhelming! I hope you find great items and I would love to hear about your luck!

Considering that I'm heading to NYC next Saturday for a day trip, this list is God's sent. I'll be in Manhattan so I'll check out the stores that you recommended in that area.
